In my previous post I discussed why protein is a nutrient that plays a role in just about every function in the body and is vital for human survival. So what about consuming protein powders? Well not much divides the naturopathic tribe quite like the words ‘protein powder’. Some see the healthy benefits, while others claim that they are totally unnecessary if dietary intake of protein is adequate. Both sides are right to some extent, but as usual the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
